The Beneficiary:

I was approached at the January WB&E event by a woman who was very passionate about what she had to tell me.  She proceeded to tell me all about JAZZWORKS, organizers of workshops and monthly jam sessions for those future musician of the world who want to immerse themselves in Jazz!
"JAZZWORKS is an intensive learning opportunity for adult jazz musicians (all levels, beginner through professional) and advanced high school musicians....." www.jazzworkscanada.com

The Eats:

-B.Goods (a bakery)
(
b.goods@sympatico.ca) - These sweets, currently only available at Natural Food Pantry (126 York St.), are a decadent vegans dream.  Dairy and egg free cookies, just as chewy and rich as your *other* favorite cookie.  Made with whole grain flours, non-hydrogenated oils and organic ingredients, you could almost consider them healthy.

-Pure Gelato
(350 Elgin St - 72 William St.- 613-237-3799) - Spring is hopefully coming and once again I hope we arent jumping the gun a bit with this 2nd donation from the local purveyor of fresh made gelatos.  The gelato will be cold and the May 4th WB&E will be hot!

The Beats:

This month the giveaways are provided by World Music Network's, Rough Guides Series (www.worldmusic.net). - If you have ever traveled to any destination that you needed a guide book for, you may have used one of their Rough Guides books, but you can also travel at home via their Rough Guides Music Series.  This month we have their "World Party" sampler..

Always swanky in house beats.

** 7-8:30pm
beats w/ Emily Jones (emilyjones.ca, E18hteen, Social, Mercury)

Featuring work by:

Robert Hyndman: a distinguished painter and Ottawa School of Art teacher whose contribution to Canadian art has extended over many decades.  For more info : Click Here
